Wisconsin Department of Naturl Resources- Steps for Safe Burning

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has already responded to nearly 400 fires already this year, which far exceeds the 10 year average of 196 fires for April 11. Half of those fires were caused by people burning debris, which is the #1 cause of wildfires in Wisconsin.  You know you need a DNR burn permit.  Now remember to make sure you check the daily burn restrictions online after 9 a.m. each day you want to burn or by calling 1-888-WIS-BURN (947-2876) to see if burning is allowed.
