POSITION SUMMARY

The Town of Seymour, Eau Claire County (population 3,400), is seeking a motivated individual to join our Roads Department. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a close-knit community. Under the direction of the Road Crew Supervisor, the Crew Person/Road Worker performs a variety of construction, maintenance, and repair duties related to town roads, rights-of-way, equipment, and town-owned property.

GENERAL DUTIES

• Construct and maintain town roads and rights-of-way
• Repair and replace pipes and culverts
• Patch and repair road surfaces
• Assist with bridge repair and maintenance projects
• Maintain and service tools, equipment, and vehicles
• Clear brush and vegetation as needed
• Work weekends when necessary for snow removal and emergency road repairs
• Assist with the maintenance and repair of town buildings, grounds, and other property
• Perform other related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including frequently lifting and carrying 40–50 pounds
• Ability to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to safely operate road equipment and hand tools used in the performance of duties
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with elected officials, coworkers, and members of the public
• Commitment to safe work practices and procedures
• Ability to work overtime when required
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required with Air Brake Endorsement

JOB TYPE:  Full-time

WAGE:  $23.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
