Town of Seymour Seeking Broadband Committee Members
As most of us have heard, the federal government has issued funds through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to assist underserved areas in getting high speed internet, otherwise known as broadband. There are no formal studies in our town, but most of us have experienced the pain of slow, spotty, or non-existent internet, especially during these past 18 months.
We don’t want to be left behind, but we need our community’s help! Please consider helping to form a committee that will champion this effort, survey our residents, apply for Eau Claire County and federal grants, and hopefully bring better internet to the Town of Seymour. If you are at all interested, please reach out to me directly either via phone or email.
Everyone can help by taking the Eau Claire County speed test survey! This will help put Seymour on the map and identify our need: Link to Broadband Survey Please take this survey and encourage your neighbors to take it as well.
*The Town has not committed to supporting broadband, but we anticipate this need and want to explore this time-sensitive issue. The town board will need to approve any distribution of funds and/or grant applications.
